Help!

I understand that support for this player is pretty much dead.. but I have to ask.. is there an easy way to create these tgz files? I've tried making a skin with the creator, and then tweaking it afterwards, but the files I make (with 7-zip) don't appear to be compatible with the player once I upload it...

I am making Tar files, and then gzipping them, and making it a tgz file.. but no worky
Any ideas?
